Global Tracking Technologies LLC Launch Unique Package Tracking System

Total logistics visibility is enabled through seamless monitoring of vehicle, driver, trailer and package location in realtime at the same time.

Global Tracking Technologies’ (‘GTT’) logistics division in Tampa, launches today a critical piece of its Total Logistics Visibility solution. The package tracking technology, using A-GPS positioning enables shippers, importers and distributors to see the realtime location of high value packages and shipments throughout North America. The solution is built around Sendum PT200 and VT100 hardware and the Sprint A-GPS BMF platform.

“After spending significant time appraising some of the leading technology available in the marketplace today, we have integrated a solution that adds total value to our customers’ enterprises,” said Floyd Raynard, CEO of Global Tracking Technologies, “We have finally ‘closed the loop’ for logistics companies in that through a single interface, our users can now locate their drivers, vehicles, trailers and packages, in realtime, at the same time”.

The system has been under test with logistics company AFC Worldwide Express who have been running skids and packages between their main depots in Florida, Texas and Arizona within which the battery-powered Sendum units have been hidden. Multiple consignments were tracked in realtime with geofence alerts triggered when packages failed to arrive or deviated from a preset course. Drivers were given Motorola Iden phones running on the Nextel network, these were also tracked through the GTT software. The GTT tracking platform is accessed using a standard internet browser.

The Total Logistics Visibility solution is a turnkey product available direct to end users or can be exploited by service providers and resellers under a ‘white-label’ model with GTT providing support.
